The following courses may be run:

Introduction Course    Course Details

A short sixteen to twenty hour course covering the basics, including animals, plants, design strategies and principles. Usually covered over a weekend or two full days, the Introduction Course is mainly a hands-on practical course where you learn how to make several things from a range of activities such as sheet mulched beds, compost, earthworm farm, tyre pond, circle gardens or a Mandala garden. Cost about $100 - $120.

Permaculture Design Course (PDC)   Course Details

The PDC is a 72 hour course which results in the participant receiving a Certificate which is recognised by permaculture practitioners throughout the world. The PDC is a balance of practical with theory, often resulting in a design and partial implementation for a property. This course covers much more theory and is often tailor-made for the local climate, soil type and topography. The text is Mollison's Designer's Manual. Cost $550.

Advanced Teaching Course    Course Details

This course is for people who wish to teach permaculture courses themselves. Participants learn teaching styles and strategies, discuss the typical syllabi for Pc courses, examine a range of resources, and prepare and present actual lessons to the group. Course takes about one week (5 days) and costs about $300.

Advanced Design Course    Course Details

A course specifically for people who want to become designers and consultants. Practically-orientated and covers the use of measuring equipment, soil and water analysis, determining contours, drawing scale plans and performing designs for clients. Course takes about one week (5 days) and costs about $300.

Workshops    Course Details

A variety of one day workshops are often available on a range of topics such as Soils, Aquaculture, and Greywater and Wastewater Treatment. Cost about $50 each.

Accredited Permaculture Training     Course Details

Courses offered Certificate I to V. All accredited permaculture training is competency based. i.e. when you are competent in a certain area you can be assessed. This may vary in time and energy according to previously-acquired skills. The learning emphasis is on practical work – building, gardening, planning and organising. APT is nationally recognised and is consistent with other current training packages. Students are eligible to apply for Austudy.
